Highway Adoption Works – Aster Drive, East View & Teal Drive

The residents living in Aster Drive, East View and Teal Drive will be receiving a letter from Medway Council advising them about pending adoption works.

Volker Highways Ltd, on behalf of Medway Council, intend to undertake repairs to the highway in the above-mentioned areas.

These works will start on Monday 17th September and it is estimated that it will take up to 2 weeks to complete.  Works will be conducted between 08.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday.  Please refer to on-street notice boards for specific dates within each road.

Access to pedestrians on the footway will be maintained at all times, with regards to the resurfacing works on the carriageway there will be days when access will be restricted and you will be notified of these dates via the street notice boards.

Should you require any advice on the day of works, please enquire with one of the operatives who will refer you to the on-site supervisor (Ian Oddy on 07769 301843).

Medway Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience or delay you may experience as a result of these works.  With your co-operation, Volker Highways Ltd, will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum.

Guidance Notes will accompany the letter; the following precautionary measures should be noted:

  • DO NOT walk on the freshly laid material because it may stick to your shoes and be transferred to carpets, wooden floors, paved driveways etc.  Please note that Volker Highways Ltd, WILL NOT be held liable for any damage caused in this way as it is your responsibility to ensure that shoes are clean before entering your property.
  • AVOID driving across the fresh material e.g. to or from your driveway.  Not only would this damage the new surface, it may also cause damage to your tyres, paintwork or paved driveway.
  • OBSERVE the traffic control measures that will be in place during the works.
