Meeting of St. Mary’s Island History Group – Monday 9th July
St. Mary’s Island History Group are due to meet again on Monday 9th July at 7.30 pm at St. Mary’s Island Community Centre.
The speaker at that meeting will be Pam Bathurst who will be talking about the so called rebirth of the Medway Queen; the paddle steamer’s history goes back to 1923.
Visitors are welcome to attend for £2. Annual subscriptions are being kept the same but the group is asking for £1 per person for all refreshments.
The History Group keeps in touch with its members via newsletter and the website but they are working on a Facebook page.
If you wish to become a member you can join by downloading the membership form from their website and sending it with a cheque for £10 to Brian Portway, 5 Haven Way, St. Mary’s Island, Chatham Maritime, Kent ME4 3LB . Cheques should be made payable to St. Mary’s Island History Group; don’t forget to include your name, address and email contact.
