Medway Venues Closed & Events Cancelled

Due to the evolving situation with COVID-19 and advice from Government and Public Health England major events across Medway have been cancelled and venues closed, including The Historic Dockyard Chatham and Rochester Cathedral.

The Historic Dockyard is closed until the 30th April when the situation will be reviewed.

Rochester Cathedral is also closed to members of the public following a directive by the Archbishop of Canterbury and Archbishop of York.

Medway Council’s programme of events have been cancelled, including:  English Festival on 18th April / Sweeps Festival 2nd & 3rd May / Focus on Rainham 16th May / Cycling Festival 13th – 21st June / Dickens Festival 13th & 14th June / Armed Forces Day 27th June / Focus on Walderslade 28th June.

All shows at Chatham’s Central Theatre and The Brook will be cancelled until the end of June.

At the moment Rochester Castle and Upnor Castle remain open but this will remain under review.
