Medway Council to carry out road resurfacing – Maritime Way on interchange above Pier Road

As part of Medway Council’s programme of annual improvements, resurfacing of Maritime Way at the interchange above Pier Road is scheduled to take place on Monday 2nd July for one night between 8 pm and 5.30 am.

This work is being undertaken as part of Medway Council’s commitment to maintaining and improving the Highway Network.  Details of the Council’s Annual Highway Improvement Programme can be found on the Council’s website.

After consideration of various options the Traffic Manager agreed that the safest and most appropriate time to conduct this work was overnight.  This will limit the disruption to road users and allow for a safer working environment.  A full road closure is required, including the suspension of any on street parking.

Information boards will be erected in advance advising road users of the precise dates and times of the road closure.  Every effort will be made to complete the work within the dates given, however, dates are subject to change due to poor weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances arise.

Resurfacing works are by their nature noisy but every effort will be made to keep the disturbance to a minimum.
