Medway Council Highway Adoption Works – Sector 7/8
Volker Highways Ltd on behalf of Medway Council will be carrying out pre-adoption works undertaking repairs to the highway in the following roads – Deering Close, Henrietta Chase, Little Victory Mount and Tappan Drive. Medway Council did a letter drop to those affected on the morning of Thursday 21st June.
The works will start Monday 2nd July and it is estimated will take up to 8 weeks to complete. Working hours will be from 08.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday. Residents should refer to on-street notice boards for specific dates within each road.
Access to pedestrians on the footway will be maintained at all times. In respect of resurfacing works on the carriageway there will be days when access will be restricted – these dates will again be displayed on the street notice boards.
If you require any advice on the day of works, you should ask one of the operatives to refer you to the on-site Supervisor.
Medway Council apologise for any inconvenience or delay you may experience. With your co-operation, Volker Highways Ltd will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum.
In the Council’s correspondence they strongly recommend that residents follow the precautionary measures listed below:
- DO NOT walk on the freshly laid material because it may stick to your shoes and be transferred to carpets, wooden floors, paved driveways etc. Please note that Volker Highways Ltd WILL NOT be held liable for any damage caused in this way as it is your responsibility to ensure that shoes are clean before entering your property.
- AVOID driving across the fresh material e.g. to or from your driveway. Not only would this damage the new surface, it may also cause damage to your tyres, paintwork or paved driveway.
- OBSERVE the traffic control measures that will be in place during the operation.
Once this sector has been completed it will then move on to Sector 9 and 14. All work on all sectors should be completed by 30th September 2018.
Should you experience any issues during these works then please contact the Highways Adoption Team on 01634 333333.
