Southern Water Area Notification
Southern Water will be cleaning the water pipes that supply your home between 08/05/2026 and 22/05/2026. This work should only take two days and is needed to make sure they can keep supplying you with high quality drinking water.
They’ll be working from 8am to 4pm to keep any disruption to a minimum. If you’d like to receive updates about the work you can sign up to text alerts.
Changes you may notice :
- Water from your tap might appear cloudy or discoloured at first. This is normal and should clear when you run your tap for a few seconds. They recommend only using your washing machine and dishwasher if your water is clear, to help avoid any staining or residue. It’s easy to check the colour of your water by filling a small glass.
- A short dip in water pressure, this will only be temporary.

Why this work is needed
The process for cleaning pipes is called flushing. Water is flushed through the pipes to remove any sediment build up and help ensure they continue to supply you with clean, high quality drinking water. Find out more about how we clean our pipes on our website.
