Medway Schools
With support from Chatham Maritime Trust, The Family Trust provided money management courses in Medway Schools – Wouldham, The Pilgrim and Oasis SS – a total of 7 courses positively impacting 180 pupils about finance.
The courses were delivered in a variety of ways – case study examples, quizzes and games and sessions for pupils to work out themselves. They learnt about the difference between want and need as well as salaries, investment, pensions and benefits.
Teachers said that the pupils were engaged with the programme which covered all areas in a variety of ways and inclusive of all.
These courses provided a foundation for money management and hopefully will reduce the risk of debt-related poverty.
