Living River Foundation presents a unique opportunity
Living River Foundation are offering a unique opportunity.
The Medway Estuary is heavily protected because of its large numbers and diversity of over wintering and breeding birds. Its very busy most of the year.
In September there is a small gap where it goes quieter and you can gain access to the islands without disturbing the birds.
Litter is being trapped on the islands and it is unknown as to how much is out there. Living River Foundation is preparing to launch an Annual Island Blitz. This year they are leaving from Chatham to explore what is out there.
Living River Foundation has obtained permission to access two different sites on the 14th and 15th September from 10.00 am to 1 pm on both days. This is open to small exclusive groups who must be fit and able to climb in and out of a boat.
As numbers are limited so as to not damage the birds habitat, places will be secured on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish to take up this unique opportunity then email and put in the subject Island Blitz. They will then send you the details or update you if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
