Wigmore Lecture – Weddings, Baptisms & Funerals

The second in the series of Wigmore Lectures is titled ‘Weddings, Baptisms & Funerals’ and takes place at Hempstead Library, Gillingham on Wednesday 6th November at 8 pm.

This is an entertaining talk that shows how pictures and objects in local churches reveal historic practices, many of which have been forgotten or superseded, surrounding the so-called ‘Rites of Passage’.  Illustrated with carvings, wall paintings, stained glass and objects from a thousand years of depictions of these milestones in our human journey.
