The Big Garden Bridwatch
January 25 @ 7:00 am - January 27 @ 5:00 pm
The Big Garden Birdwatch is an annual event and is the world’s largest wildlife survey. It gives the RSPB a picture of how wildlife is doing. If you have an hour to spare and record the birds from your garden, balcony or a local green space and then send the information to the RSPB.
Watch the birds for one hour; you can chose an hour between the 25th and 27th January. You should only count the birds that land – do not count those flying over. The same birds may land more than once, so you can avoid double counting by recording the highest number of each bird species you see at any one time – not the total number you count over the hour.
Every count is important. Don’t worry if you don’t see anything. Observing which birds aren’t around is as important as seeing the ones that are. Submit your findings to www.rspb.org.uk/birdwatch from 25th January to 16th February. In the event that you prefer to send your results by post then you can download a form from the website; postal results should be with them by 11th February.
