St. Mary’s Island History Group Meeting

St. Mary’s Island History Group meets this evening at 7.30 pm at St. Mary’s Island Community Centre.
The speaker will be John Short who will be talking about “the ordinary soldier of the First World War”. He will be bringing items from the kit and original artefacts of the British ‘Tommy plus the French and German soldier. He will take you to the trenches through extracts from songs and poems. It promises to be an informing and entertaining evening.
Visitors are welcome for £2. The Group asks that £1 is contributed by attendees to cover costs.
