St. Mary’s Island History Group Meeting

The SMI History Group meet at the Community Centre at 7.30 pm. New members are welcome. Annual membership is £10 allowing entries to all their meetings. Visitors are welcome at £2. Although the group is keeping the annual subscriptions the same they are asking for £1 per person for all refreshments.
The guest speaker for this meeting is Pam Bathurst who will be talking about the so called rebirth of the Medway Queen whose history dates back to 1923. Further information can be found on the Medway Queen Preservation Society website.
The group currently has a membership of around 30 Members and keep in touch by newsletter and via the website. Their Facebook page is a work in progress. if you wish to become a member you can download the membership form from their website and send a cheque for £10 made payable to “St. Mary’s Island History Group” to Brian Portway, 5 Haven Way, St. Mary’s Island, Chatham, Kent ME4 3LB.
