Medway Talk – Making Pregnancies Safer

This talk is delivered by  Professor Ranjit Akolekar (Canterbury Christ Church University)

Professor Ranjit Akolekar is the Clinical Lead for the Medway Foetal and Obstetric Medicine Centre at Medway Hospital which is a specialist unit for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies in Kent and Medway. Preventing stillbirths and pregnancy losses are a national priority and there is considerable amount of effort invested in making this happen. Ranjit is a clinical academic and his area of research interest is prevention of stillbirths and adverse pregnancy outcomes. He has published more than 200 research publications with more than 18,000 citations. He has helped countless women and families to achieve safe and healthy pregnancy outcomes.

He will be discussing the latest research in this area and can more be done to prevent such pregnancy complications based on latest research and evidence.

This talk is open to all and runs from 6 pm to 7 pm and takes place in the Pilkington Theatre in the Pilkington building.  It is FREE to attend but registration is required.  Car parking is FREE in the Drill Hall Library car park.
