Medway In The Mood – Mother’s Day Concert

This is a Big Band Concert with a difference as it traces the history of Chatham and the Medway area through both sound and vision.  The performance is by the University of Greenwich big Band and takes you on a journey through 100 years and more of the music that is sentimental, jazzy, patriotic, brassy, romantic with a programme that includes new arrangements of much later modern popular music in the swing and Big Band style.   Favourites from Glen Miller, Cole Porter, Bennie Goodman, Scott Joplin, Rosemary Clooney, Irving Berlin and even ABBA can be enjoyed.    Linked to the timeline of music there will be an audio visual presentation highlighting the events in history of Chatham and the Medway area.

This concert takes place at the Pilkington Building Lecture Theatre on the Medway Campus.  Admission is free but by ticket only.  There will be a collection for local Wisdom Hospice charity (www.fowh.org.uk /Registered Charity No: 284894).
