Hilda Kean: The Great Cat & Dog Massacre
March 20, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In September 1939 around 400,000 cats and dogs were killed by their owners. In London alone this figure represented around 26% of the cat and dog population at the time. Despite this, many cats and dogs lived as valued pets with their families. Hilda Kean has explored accounts from animal charities, diaries and handed down family stories to bring important animal events to light.
