Free Lace-Making Demonstration

FREE lace-making demonstration at Rochester Art Gallery from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm on Saturday 14th September. The demonstration will be presented by Hannah Robson surrounded by her exhibition ‘Bizarre and Curious Silks’.
In her work Hannah explores the effects of light and shadow in two and three dimensions. She combines weaving with techniques borrowed from lace making, using metallic threads. Interested in the spatial qualities of textiles, she incorporates sculptural elements to her fabrics to create technically ambitious surfaces.
In this demonstration Hannah will be developing one piece of work through the morning,. In the afternoon you can book onto her lace-making workshop which takes place in the Museum.
The Huguenot Museum is located at 95 High Street, Rochester ME1 1LX. Rochester Art Gallery is on the ground floor of the building.
