Dig Deep at Fort Amherst

This is an opportunity to join Community Archaeologist, Andrew Mayfield, uncovering hidden military heritage at The Spur Battery at Fort Amherst, Dock Road, Chatham ME4 4UB. This area was once used for troop encampments, siege warfare training and military punishment. It is going to be transformed into an open air amphitheatre for outside performances.
The digging sessions are free and you can book as many free sessions as you wish. The sessions take place on:
13th, 14th, 16th to 18th, 20th, 21st, 23rd to 25th, 27th and 28th October from 10 am to midday and again from 1 pm to 3 pm.
