Chatham Maritime welcomes HMS Medway

On Sunday 22nd September HMS Medway will be open to visitors from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors must book tickets in advance via the website www.eventbrite.co.uk
HMS Medway is a 90-metre offshore patrol vessel and will be involved in counter-terrorism and anti-smuggling operations to keep Britain safe. It has a flight deck to accommodate the Merlin helicopter and is armed with 30mm automatic cannon, two miniguns, four machine guns and is capable of more than 24 knots. Once it leaves Chatham Maritime the vessel will be involved in front-line training ready for her maiden deployment overseas.
The vessel is scheduled to leave Basin 2 on Monday 23rd September.
