Chatham Library Talk: Medway Prison Hulks

This is a FREE local history talk about the Medway Prison Hulks, the not so nice part of Medway’s history, given by Dr Jeremy Clarke from the Guildhall Museum.
Former Royal Naval warships were used as floating prisons or “Prison Hulks” on the River Medway from the mid 18th century until the mid 19th century. Prison Hulks were located at Sheerness, Gillingham and Chatham.
It takes place at the Community Hub at Chatham Library on Friday 10th May at 3 pm and lasts about an hour.
