Brompton & Invicta Military Wives Choir & Guests

The Kent Branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, are holding an evening of music, emotion and reflection.
The Brompton and Invicta Military Wives Choir are pleased to be working with SSAFA to raise vital funds for the military community. The Choir, which was formed in 2013, have sung at a variety of places including The Royal Albert Hall, at the first Invictus Games, Carnegie Hall in New York, Menin Gate in Belgium for the Last Post Ceremony, and supported Lulu on her 2016 tour. They are keen to support their local military connections and were involved with the recording of the 2018 Military Wives Choir’s album “Remember”. The choir will be joined by the following:
Swingtime Sweethearts. This duo have performed at a number of places including St. James Palace, Buckingham Palace, Blenheim Palace, Goodwood Revival, and appeared in Dame Vera Lynn’s 200th Birthday Concert at the London Palladium. They have a wide range of songs from the 1940’s, wartime and swing, includes the hits of Vera Lynn, Anne Shelton, Gracie Fields and Glenn Miller. They will be sharing some of these songs during the evening.
NChant – Rochester Grammar School Senior Girls’ Choir. this choir is made up of pupils from Years 9-13 and have performed at school events and services as well as the Royal Albert Hall. More recently they were finalists in the years BBC’s Songs of Praise Young Choir of the Year Competition.
Also performing will be Anna Burgon, who is a brilliant Soprano Soloist, Solon Fountzopoulos, a very talented young Pianist and LCpl Mahesh Gurung, a Bagpiper for the Queens Gurkha Engineers.
It will be a memorable evening and you will be laughing, crying and feeling immensely proud of our wonderful armed forces family.
All profit from the event will be used to support the military community in Kent. The Kent branch of SSAFA is staffed by volunteers and the funds raised will ensure that their vital work can continue.
Doors open at 6.45 pm. Performance starts at 7.30 pm and will last approx. 2 hours with an interval.
