Be enchanted at the Historic Dockyard this half term

October 19, 2019 @ 10:00 am - October 27, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

Be transported into a magical world at the Historic Dockyard Chatham this half term, from Saturday 19th October to Sunday 27th October.

A mystical garden and seasonal crafts await families inside No. 1 Smithery.  Grown-ups and children will be tasked with making their own magic wands and origami butterflies, plus they’ll be able to carve pumpkins (there is an additional cost of £2.50 for this activity) and make their own goo-ey slime (an additional cost of £2.50 for this activity) before entering the Enchanted Garden.

Families will be invited to ‘charge’ their magic wands and creep quietly through the secret door into the mysterious world of the dockyard’s fairies and mystical creatures.  A feast for the senses – they’ll see, hear, smell and feel as they explore the garden, wander around the koi pond and peek into the fairy village before gathering on the toad stalls under the trees for story time.  They’ll follow the plight of the lost ship Phoenix as a digital storybook comes to life on the big screen.  Led by narrator Little Victory, visitors will need to help Neewollah the Wizard and his band of fireflies guide the Phoenix safely home through the storm.

This immersive experience will last about an hour.  Access to the Enchanted Dockyard is included in an entry ticket but a timeslot must be booked upon arrival.  It is an undercover, all weather experience and visitors are encouraged to come dressed in magical and mystical outfits.

It should be noted that the Enchanted Dockyard is a dark atmospheric experience that is lit with fairy lights so may be darker than usual.
