A Winter’s Tale at Upnor Castle

The Changeling Theatre Company are bringing A Winter’s Tale to Upnor Castle on Tuesday 23rd July at 7.30 pm (gates open at 6.30 pm).
This tale by William Shakespeare is brought to life with the castle as the backdrop – what a perfect setting.
A Winter’s Tale is a wonderful fairy story set in Sicily and Bohemia. Leontes has everything a man could want: wealth, power, a family that loves him and friends. But he is not at peace. Inside he harbours a bitter jealousy that drives him to destroy all that he holds dear. Many years later, in a distant country, a journey begins that may ultimately heal his pain and reunite his family.
The play contains Shakespeare’s most famous but challenging stage direction ‘Exit, pursued by a bear.’
The Changeling Theatre company bring great music score, beautiful costumes and a hint of…. ABBA! the company was founded in 1997 to produce high quality entertaining theatre for audiences across South East England and are best known for their annual summer Shakespeare tour.
