Medway Health Walk – Gillingham

January 8, 2020 @ 9:45 am - 10:15 am

Medway Health Walks suit all abilities and levels of fitness.

These social walks are led by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders. The walks are organized to support people to get the most enjoyment out of walking. Walking is a low impact form of exercise and suitable for all ages and abilities and dogs on leads are welcomed. It is also a cheap way to exercise. All that you need is a comfortable pair of shoes and suitable clothing.

Walk and collect goodies. Bags, water bottles, T-shirts and pedometers are given away once you achieve a certain amount of walks.

The Gillingham Walk takes place on Wednesdays at 9.45 am from the Gillingham Community Hub ME7 1BG.  This is a beginners walk for those returning to fitness.  The walk is around the Great Lines Heritage Park with its fortifications, massive ditches and Field of Fire were intended to defend Chatham Dockyard from landward attack.

On average the walk takes 30 minutes.  This walk also takes place on the 15th, 22nd and 29th January 2020.
Walks may be cancelled on the day by the Walk Leaders if they think it is too dangerous due to weather conditions. If you are interested in becoming a Medway Health Walk Volunteer call 01634 333727 or email ">.
