Chatham Maritime Watersports Activities

Pre-booking only, Participation forms must be completed & returned electronically to secure hire, payment is either in advanced or by contactless card on the day.

Participants must be confident and competent on a Kayak or Paddleboard and be able to self-rescue from the water to their Sit on Top Kayak or paddleboard.
Windsurfing competent to RYA Intermediate or Stage 3
Sailing requires competence to Dinghy Level 1 or Dinghy Stage 3 for single handed hire.

Pay & Play hire is £12.50 per person per session. Try Sailing is £15.  SMI residents receive a 10% discount.

From Tuesday we will be welcoming the return of 8 & 9 year olds for Kayaking where a parent accompanies them on the water in one of our tandem Kayaks.

On Monday we will be rolling out a Bank holiday “Launch your own” day, this will be the first of our bring your own sessions which allows the public to pre-book a launch slot to explore the basin from their own Kayak, Paddleboard or Windsurfer. *Self-launch is only permitted when booked through the watersports centre at advertised times.

There will also be part 1 of our 2 day Stage 1, Youth Start sailing course on Saturday 5^th September with part 2 on Saturday 12^th September.
