Big Band Charity Concert – Medway In The Mood

The University of Greenwich Big Band Charity  Concert offers music with a difference as it traces the history of Chatham and Medway area through sound and vision.  Linked to the timeline of the music there will be an audio and visual presentation highlighting the events in history in the area taking you on a journey through 100 years of music that is sentimental, jazzy, patriotic, brassy and romantic.  The programme will include new arrangements of much later modern popular music in the swing and Big Band style.  Favourites from Glen Miller, Cole Porter, Bennie Goodman, Scott Joplin, Rosemary Clooney, Irving Berlin and even ABBA will feature.

The concert takes place at the Pilkington Building Lecture Theatre on the Medway Campus.  Admission is free but by ticket only.  There will be a collection for local Wisdom Hospice charity (www.fowh.org.uk / Registered charity: 284894).
