Chatham Maritime Trust Sub-Letting St Mary's Island > About your House > Restrictive Covenants > Sub-Letting

This section deals with the sub-letting of residential property on St Mary's Island

There are no restrictions in the Rentcharge Deed on sub-letting of property. (Flatowners please note that there may be lease restrictions and you should check your lease or contact your block owner / managing agent).

Residents are reminded that the restrictive covenants continue to apply, and that landlords are responsible on behalf of their tenants. Residents proposing to sub-let should therefore ensure that the tenancy agreement reflects the appropriate restrictive covenants (including any contained in a flat lease), and ensure that tenants are aware of them.
Residents who are rentcharge payers (ie house owners) and are sub-letting should advise the Trust of a UK contact address for rentcharge demands and other correspondence.
It would also be helpful to advise of the name(s) of the tenant(s).
